The Process/ Fees
Developing concepts and effectively conveying them is a
central part of professional life today.
Jobs, salaries, advancement, and public recognition are
in the balance. Typically, professional writing is also
done under deadline, and must suit different purposes and
audiences.
It is time-consuming, challenging, and often high-stakes.
Concept development and communication is also exciting,
productive, and deeply gratifying.
But it is rarely taught, mentored, or properly nurtured.
It is just one more skill assumed to be innate to academics
and other professionals.
Want a Collaborator?
The MindFire process is Interactive, Collaborative, Creative,
Productive, Confidential, Timely.
Perhaps you have an unfinished book manuscript that needs
extra focus or polish. Perhaps you have great proposal ideas
-- and too little time fully to develop them yourself.
Sometimes a simple conversation clarifies your ideas.
    developing and shaping your ideas
    developing content or writing it
    polishing and editing text
    design, layout, or graphics.
Most likely, you want something in-between: intelligent
collaboration to help disembed, articulate, sharpen, and
present your ideas, concepts, results
At MindFire you will work with a skilled consultant, a
Ph.D. thinker - writer - author with nearly 20 years' experience,
and specializing in sciences.
The MindFire process has three basic stages
Initial Contact
You and I discuss the work: its nature and substance;
the desired outcome; your work style; time-frame or deadlines;
other information I need to be more effective; likely
amount of time the work requires.
First Pass and Feedback
Based on our conversation, I do a first round. I return
it to you for comment. Together we consider final outcomes.
Next Stage (and Possible Completion)
Typically, a small project is essentially complete by
now. I polish it and hand you back final product. For
a larger project, we decide how to move ahead, and re-negotiate
as appropriate.
While I might work independently, I am always guided
by your input, goals, needs.
Fees
Fees are negotiable, and by the hour or a flat fee, depending
on the nature and scope of the work (e.g. larger jobs
are pro-rated). We do pro bono as well. Typically, rates
are market-norm sliding scale, from $85 - to $150. per
hour.
